The parents of the LSU freshman who died from alcohol poisoning suffered during a fraternity hazing last September have filed a $25 million wrongful-death lawsuit.
Named as defendants in the death of 18-year-old freshman Max Gruver of Roswell, Georgia are the university, Phi Delta Theta and individual members of the now-disbanded local chapter of the fraternity.
The federal complaint accuses the university of giving "deliberate indifference to allegations of hazing of male students," while aggressively opposing the hazing of female pledges.
