Cast Iron Statue Missing From Downtown Baton Rouge Located

Authorities are still working to learn what happened to a 400-pound cast iron statue that went missing from a bench along the levee in downtown Baton Rouge.

WBRZ News 2 reports the statue was found Friday morning in a parking lot on Oklahoma Street near River Road.

The androgynous human-shaped sculpture that was part of Borders, a traveling art display, is believed to have been taken either in March or April. It wasn't discovered to be gone until last month when preparations began to move the display to Shreveport.

So far, police haven't been able to figure out who took it and why.
