Thousands Impacted By 2016 Floods Getting More Financial Help

Thousands of homeowners impacted by the 2016 floods in Louisiana will be getting more financial help.

Gov. John Bel Edwards announced Monday the federal government has given a thumbs-up to Restore Louisiana fully reimbursing homeowner-funded repairs. The checks previously had been limited to 50% to all but the neediest homeowners.

Payments averaging almost $12,000 are expected to hit the mail this week.
