Authorities are confirming the remains of a man found dismembered in Livingston Parish over the weekend are those of 26-year-old Michael Neufeld of Donaldsonville.
Eight people have been charged in connection with his death but the motive remains unclear.
Neufeld had been staying with his mother in Gonzales when he went missing earlier this month. The Advocate reports that Neufeld's brother says the victim agreed to drive a friend to a home in Livingston Parish where he was shot prior to being dismembered.
