The wife of a man killed last month when his bike was hit by a vehicle will temporarily take over the Republican's District 6 seat on the Baton Rouge Metro Council.
A majority of the members of the panel who took part in Thursday's decision voted in favor of Denise Amoroso, the widow of Buddy Amoroso, filling the post pending a special election next year.
Most of the council's Democrats abstained from voting.
