A Baton Rouge man is in custody after allegedly holding a man and a woman hostage at knifepoint and subsequently killed the woman's dog.

The incident took place early Tuesday at an apartment on Cedarcrest Avenue.  Police say the victims weren't allowed to leave until they agreed to let 34-year-old Daniel Hobdy use the man's phone.

Hobdy was arrested after being identified in a photo array of possible suspects.
