Accused Rapist In Baker Posts High Bond

A convicted sex offender accused of impersonating an officer and raping a teenage boy in Baker this past April is no longer being held in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

That's because 55-year-old Mark David Russell is out on bond again after managing to come up with the $285,000 needed for his release.

The Advocate reports Russell's bond was increased after he was set free earlier this year on a bail amount of $13,000 but then failed to show up for two court hearings because of a failed suicide attempt.
