A Denham Springs man is facing up to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter in a Baton Rouge murder-for-hire plot.
In court Thursday, 23-year-old Terry Ashpaugh admitted that he shot and killed the 54-year-old wife of automobile dealer Hamed Ghassemi in 2015. The couple had gone through a bitter divorce, with a $1 million settlement paid to her.
As a result of the plea agreement, Ashpaugh will testify against Ghassemi and others involved in the plot.
