Beryl continued to barrel across the tropical Atlantic Friday as the first hurricane of the 2018 season.
The storm's small stature is making guesses at its long-term future tough. While the National Hurricane Center keeps Beryl at hurricane strength as it moves through the Lesser Antilles Sunday night or Monday, that forecast is highly uncertain.
Beryl "could just as easily dissipate into an open wave sooner than indicated in the official forecast," read the Friday afternoon discussion from the NHC.
For now, Beryl is no threat to south Louisiana.
