Bond is set at $17,500-dollars for the Lafayette man accused of striking two bicyclists over the weekend, killing District 8 East Baton Rouge Metro Council member Buddy Amoroso and seriously injuring a 71-year-old man.
Troopers say the crash happened Saturday on LA 66 in West Feliciana Parish when 21-year-old Nicholas Alexander hit the bikes from behind.
While flags fly at half-staff in Baton Rouge this week for Amoroso, Alexander is facing charges that include negligent homicide.
