The suspect in the apparent baseball bat murder of a young Pointe Coupee Parish woman is being held on $1 million bond.
The sheriff's office says 20-year-old Madeleine Falgout of Fordoche was apparently beaten to death after breaking off her relationship with former boyfriend Eric Duhon Jr.
He was arrested for second-degree murder early Tuesday morning, just over 24 hours after family members found the body of Falgout in her home.
