Alberto Continues Trek Towards Monday Landfall

Subtropical Storm Alberto continued to move across the southeastern Gulf of Mexico Saturday night.

A turn to the north to north-northwest is expected to take place over Sunday and Alberto could also slowly strengthen over that time. The subtropical storm is expected to become a fully tropical storm in the next 36 hours. Winds could be up to 65 miles per hour before landfall sometime on Monday.

With tropical storm and storm surge watches discontinued for Louisiana, the main threat from Alberto for our area is rain bands from the storm dumping 2 to 4 inches in a short time.
