The remaining open bays on the Bonnet Carre Spillway will be closed on Friday.
The Army Corps of Engineers says the decision was based on "reduced flows in the Mississippi River at Red River Landing," according to a press release.
This is the 12th time the spillway has been pressed into action. At the peak, 183 of its 350 bays were in use.
The Corps started opening bays on March 8 and started closing bays on March 22.
