State lawmakers today will resume their slow-motion dance of trying to resolve Louisiana's billion-dollar budget crisis. Very little has happened since the special session began last Monday. However, the House Ways & Means Committee sent several measures to the full House yesterday geared at offsetting the projected red ink. One of the bills targets middle- and upper-income residents who itemize their tax deductions.
