(WBRZ News 2) Authorities say a person is in custody after a shooting in Zachary left two people dead Thursday afternoon.
The incident was reported around 1:15 p.m. in the Sweetbriar Trailer Park off Samuels Road. Authorities say two men were pronounced dead at the scene and a third male was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Police confirmed that the shooter turned himself in to authorities at the Baker Police Department before being taken away by East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff's deputies. The firearm was also recovered by police.
Two witnesses were also taken into custody and are being questioned.
The two dead have been identified as 20-year-old Tyrion Gwinn and 24-year-old Leonard Cummings III, two brothers who lived at the trailer park. Witnesses at the scene tell WBRZ that the shooting began as a fight.
