An elderly woman is dead after fire engulfed her raised mobile home in Denham Springs.
The 79-year-old was killed early yesterday morning as flames engulfed the residence that was mounted on supports about 20 feet into the air.
She remained on the phone with a 911 operator until about one minute before firefighters arrived on the scene.
The fire apparently spread from additional living space that had been constructed below the mobile home, but the cause hasn't been determined.
