There have been six extensions, but December 31st will be the deadline for flood insurance policy holders to file proof of loss documentation in connection with the August 2016 floods.
State Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon says those who have discovered additional damage or those filing initial claims are required to meet the end of year deadline.
He says nearly 30,000 claims have been filed thus far.
