A priest in Gonzales is under investigation by the Diocese of Baton Rouge for alleged sexual misconduct.
The probe was launched after a 31-year-old woman came forward recently to say she was abused in 1996 by Father Eric Gyan who is currently pastor at St. Theresa of Avila Parish.
The woman tells The Advocate that she was forced to perform sex acts on Gyan during confession at St. John the Baptist Parish in Brusly when she was 10 years old.
