A man and his six-year-old granddaughter are dead as the result of a house fire in Denham Springs and autopsies will be performed today.
The fire erupted late Wednesday night in the living room, killing 57-year-old Jesse Lowrance and his grandchild, Kenley Lowrance. An older granddaughter and Lowrance's wife suffered serious burn injuries.
The State Fire Marshal's Office says smoke detectors in the home apparently didn't go off.
