A Gonzales man is dead and police are still working to determine who may have attacked him and why.
Authorities say 44-year-old Brian Tumas left for work early Friday, but suffered trauma to his body within sight of his residence in the Pelican Point neighborhood. He died at the hospital later that afternoon.
The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office is waiting on a cause of death from the coroner.
