There are now eleven finalists in the application process to become the next Baton Rouge police chief.
A twelfth applicant was eliminated yesterday by the Municipal Fire and Police Civil Service Board based on the results of a civil service exam.
A group of community leaders will issue recommendations to the mayor who will eventually name the next leader of the city's police department.
“I am confident that from the list of individuals presented that I can select a chief who is experienced, progressive and visionary, and who understands and is committed to the 21st Century model of policing, including community policing,” East Baton Rouge Parish Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome said.
