The next permanent director of the Baton Rouge Metro Airport won't be decided until after a nationwide search for candidates.
That was the decision made Wednesday by the Metro Council.
The post is currently held on an interim basis by Ralph Hennessy who had been second in command for 16 years. In the end, a majority of council members voted in favor of the search, though there's a feeling by some on council that Hennessy will wind up with the job permanently.
