4 p.m. Sat: No Major Changes With Hurricane Nate

Hurricane Nate was just hours away from reaching the mouth of the Mississippi River Saturday afternoon.

Nate's maximum winds remained at 90 miles per hour and the storm continued to move north-northwest at a fast clip.

The National Hurricane Center said Nate was sending "mixed signals" Saturday afternoon and is running out of time to strengthen to category 2 strength as previously forecast before landfall later tonight.

The main threats for the New Orleans metro area remain tropical force winds and storm surge. Most of the higher winds and stronger storms remain on the eastern side of the storm.
