A Baton Rouge-area elementary student is facing charges following her arrest yesterday for bringing a gun to school.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office says the unloaded 40-caliber handgun was discovered during a search of the eleven-year-old girl's backpack yesterday morning. It was taken from a family member without their knowledge.
The La Belle Aire Elementary student was arrested for bringing a weapon onto school property and a firearm-free zone.
