Baton Rouge Creates Force Against Violent Crime

A strike force is being created to combat the high murder rates in Baton Rouge.

Acting U.S. Attorney Corey Amundson led a news conference Thursday announcing that the team of officers are currently being trained for the special task. The strike force will target drug traffickers, gangs and group violence.

There have been 95 homicides in Baton Rouge this year, and officials say about half are unsolved.
