Tropical Depression Heading Towards Gulf

The National Hurricane Center is watching a tropical depression that formed Wednesday in the southwestern Caribbean Sea. It's expected to become Tropical Storm Nate later today.

The system is currently forecast to move over the east coasts of Nicaragua and Honduras Thursday, then moving over open waters Friday, grazing the eastern tip of the Yucatan Peninsula and emerging in the southern Gulf by Saturday.

After that, forecasters admit their confidence is low for days 4 and 5, with models spread across the Gulf Coast for a possible landfall.
