Watching The Waters Near Yucatan Peninsula

Computer models suggest an area of low pressure could develop over the northwestern Caribbean Sea in the next couple of days.

"Some slow development of this system is possible by the weekend while the low drifts northward into the southern Gulf of Mexico," read the Tuesday morning tropical weather outlook from the National Hurricane Center. It has a low chance of further development over the next five days.

A trough of low pressure moving over southern Florida is a rain-maker but is not expected to become a tropical cyclone at this time.
