A 17-year-old Baton Rouge resident is jailed in the parish prison following his arrest in the death of his girlfriend's eight-month-old daughter.
Police say Vincent Cummings of a 24th Street address was taken into custody Monday and charged with second-degree murder and cruelty to a juvenile.
The infant, Katelynn Carter, died Sunday of multiple blunt-force traumas. Investigators say Cummings admitted to physically abusing the baby.
