The work of an arsonist is being blamed for one of two house fires that erupted within minutes of each other early Sunday.
Baton Rouge fire officials say someone torched the rear of a home on Gracie Street, forcing a woman and her three daughters out of the structure. They were not hurt.
It was several minutes earlier that a husband and his wife safely escaped their Edgewood Drive home that suffered heavy damage after the front porch erupted in flames.
