Authorities in Zachary are confirming that a body pulled from the Mississippi River earlier this month is that of an escaped work-release inmate accused of killing his ex-girlfriend.
Alvin Dixon Jr. is said to have left a produce stand where he was working August 26th, and later that same day allegedly stabbed Aleshia Dixon to death.
Alvin Dixon's body was recovered September 7th, almost two weeks after he was seen jumping off the Mississippi River Bridge.
