Former BREC Commissioner Shot Dead Outside Home

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting late yesterday afternoon that took the life of a former Baton Rouge Recreation and Park Commission member.

66-year-old Carroll Breeden was found dead outside his home in Pride. Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Breeden served as BREC commissioner from 2001 to 2007.
