The LSU AgCenter is another step closer to the production of medical marijuana in Louisiana.
It's finalized a multi-million-dollar, five-year agreement with GB Sciences Louisiana, a cannabis firm that's focused on biopharmaceutical development. It has filed patents to use the drug to treat a variety of ailments including chronic pain and Crohn's disease.
The off-campus production facility is expected to have products available to qualifying patients by mid-2018.
