Hurricane Maria has quickly turned into a powerful Category 3 storm in the Atlantic Ocean. It's now packing devastating winds of 120 miles-per-hour as it takes aim on Puerto Rico.
The National Hurricane Center says the storm is projected to take aim at Puerto Rico's southern coast. Forecasters say Maria could be "catastrophic" for Puerto Rico, which was largely spared by Hurricane Irma.
The hurricane center says Maria is 1500 miles from South Florida and is expected to slam the Leeward Islands later today or tonight.
