Florida Governor Rick Scott says today is the day to get out of Hurricane Irma's way.
Scott warned Floridians ordered to evacuate this morning to get out quickly as the Category 4 storm makes its way toward Florida.
Irma is expected to hit the Florida Keys by Sunday morning and the storm surge is forecast to be 3 to 10 feet. Some areas could see 20 inches of rain.
Scott urged people to do the right thing and get inland.
President Trump says the federal government is ready for Hurricane Irma, tweeting this morning that Irma is a storm of epic proportions and may be the biggest hurricane the U.S. has ever experienced.
He urged people in the storm's path to be safe and get out of the way.
Irma is marching between the Bahamas and Cuba today on its way to Florida. A hurricane warning is in effect for South Florida and the Florida Keys.
