Man Pleads Guilty In Attack On Baton Rouge Cop

An Albany man is now waiting to learn his punishment after pleading guilty this week to attacking a Baton Rouge police officer in February.

WBRZ News 2 reports Thomas Bennett entered pleas of guilty to disarming a police officer, aggravated battery, possession of cocaine and burglary.

Bennett attacked the officer, beating him with his own baton, after the officer woke him up while he was asleep in a car. A woman jumped on Bennett's back to stop the attack.
