Governor Seeking To Expand President's Emergency Declaration

Department Of Justice Launches Civil Rights Investigation In Shooting Of A Black Man By Baton Rouge Police Officer

Governor John Bel Edwards is asking President Donald Trump to expand an emergency declaration issued as Tropical Storm Harvey headed for Louisiana.

The wind-packed, torrential-rain-producing system moved into the state yesterday and is nearing its exit as a depression.

Edwards wants Allen, Acadia, Iberia, Natchitoches, Rapides, Sabine and Vernon parishes added to the emergency declaration because of the need for debris removal and emergency protective needs.
