Louisiana is getting hit with heavy flooding, but state officials say Tropical Storm Harvey is having less of an impact than first feared.
Governor John Bel Edwards told a news conference in Baton Rouge today that 37 parishes have declared disasters.
Still, Edwards said the state has "fared much better" so far than they thought it might.
Harvey made landfall over southwestern Louisiana early this morning packing 45-mile-an-hour winds and heavy rain. Hundreds of Louisiana roads have standing water and I-10 westbound is closed at the state's border with Texas due to heavy flooding.
