Trump Approves Edwards' Request For Emergency Declaration

President Donald Trump has approved a request from Gov. John Bel Edwards for an federal emergency declaration in five parishes in southwest Louisiana.

The initial request covers Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, Jefferson Davis and Vermillion Parishes.

Edwards says the request could be expanded to other parishes. He has a declared a state of emergency for all of Louisiana.
