New Orleans Still On Guard With Harvey Threat

U.S. Conference of Mayors Holds Winter Meeting In Washington, D.C.

There's little doubt that there will be plenty of rainfall this week in New Orleans associated with Harvey.

Mayor Mitch Landrieu said Sunday that if the forecast for four to ten inches of rain holds, the city's storm water pumping system will likely be able to handle it.

Otherwise, New Orleans could have to endure more flash flooding.

More than a dozen pumps and several turbines are still out of service, a situation that led to dramatic flooding in areas of the city on August 5th.
