Harvey Now A Cat 2 Storm Approaching Texas Coast

Hurricane Harvey is on a collision course with the Texas Coast.

The Category 2 storm is building up strength as it churns about 180 miles southeast of Corpus Christi. The National Hurricane Center says Harvey is packing maximum sustained winds of 105 miles per hour.

Hurricane watches and warnings are in effect as those winds are forecast to intensify before Harvey makes landfall, likely later on today.

Look for Harvey to bring nearly three feet of rain with it, along with isolated tornadoes and dangerous storm surge.
