The distribution of nearly 700 body cameras to Baton Rouge police officers is expected to wrap up by this evening.
It began yesterday and is part of a more than $2 million project approved by the Metro Council earlier this year that includes funding for dash cams for police vehicles.
Efforts to equip all officers with the cameras picked up speed after the police killing of Alton Sterling in July of last year.
