Aide To Mayor Broome Resigns

One of Mayor Sharon Weston Broome's top aides is leaving his post.

James Gilmore, who had overseen the city's BRAVE crime-fighting program, submitted his resignation yesterday and it's to take effect September 1st.

Funding for contracts linked to the BRAVE program was frozen earlier this year because of untimely progress reports and after an ex-rapper, who was supposed to teach kids to respect cops, suggested a gunman delivered "justice" in the ambush shooting of law enforcement officers last year in Baton Rouge.
