A former parish president was in court today on bribery charges, but the man accusing him was a no-show.
According to WBRZ News 2, former Ascension Parish President Kenny Matassa appeared today for a motion hearing, but Wayne Lawson did not. Lawson alleges Matassa and another man offered him cash to drop out of a city council race.
Prosecutors say if they don't hear from Lawson in 48 hours, a warrant will be issued for his arrest.
