New Tropical Depression In Atlantic Soon?

The National Hurricane Center believes an area of low pressure in the Atlantic has a high chance of becoming a tropical depression today or tomorrow.

"Satellite images indicate that the circulation associated with the area of low pressure centered about 800 miles west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands has become better defined, but the associated thunderstorm activity is not well organized," said the Wednesday morning tropical weather outlook from the NHC.

While forecasters warn a tropical depression could soon develop, the low would then move into an area not friendly to further development.

There is no threat to the Gulf Coast from the storm at this time.
