This week marks the one-year anniversary since Alton Sterling was shot and killed by Baton Rouge police.
One year ago this Wednesday, the 37-year-old died while selling merchandise outside the Triple S Food Mart on North Foster Drive.
Two city cops were caught on camera involved in a dispute with Sterling before he died, continuing a national dialogue about black men killed by police. The implicated cops remain on paid administrative leave.
His five children filed a lawsuit last week against the city of Baton Rouge, its police department and police chief seeking unspecified damages.
