A man is facing several charges after he allegedly broke into a home and held a victim hostage in Baton Rouge.

Police say Matt Brown broke into a house on Mississippi Street and beat the resident Sunday. Authorities used a K-9 unit to take the 31-year-old into custody after he refused to come out of a bedroom with the victim.

Police discovered crack cocaine in the suspect's sock after his arrest.

Brown faces kidnapping, attempted burglary, resisting arrest and more.
