Broome Critized By Former Metro Council Member, Police Union

While her city is divided over the Alton Sterling shooting, Baton Rouge's mayor is only making things worse.

That's what former Metro Councilman John Delgado and the Baton Rouge Police Union said Thursday about Mayor Sharon Weston Broome's call for the officer involved in the shooting to be fired.

While in Shreveport, Delgado told KLFY-TV the mayor should be ashamed of herself because she knows she has zero authority when it comes to disciplining police officers.

Meanwhile, the Baton Rouge Police Union calls the mayor's statement confusing since it does nothing to unify the city.
