The 2017 Atlantic hurricane season doesn't begin until June, but we already have our first named storm.
Tropical Storm Arlene formed in the north Atlantic Ocean Thursday. "Tropical storms in April are rare and Arlene is only the second one observed in this month during the satellite era," noted a forecaster at the National Hurricane Center.
"I have to add one more surprise to my long hurricane forecasting career," the tropical discussion began.
Arlene is not a threat to land and is expected to dissipate on Friday.
