A 12-year-old boy is facing charges of the sexual assault of a young girl in a group home in Baton Rouge.
The alleged attack happened on Saturday night at Parker House, a behavioral therapy group home managed by Volunteers of America under the supervision of the state's children and family services department.
Parker House says it provides services to kids three to 13-years-old, quote "diagnosed with a severe behavioral disorder or a mental illness."
Baton Rouge Police say the boy is accused of assaulting the seven-year-old in her room when she was sleeping. The alleged offender is in custody at a juvenile detention center.
