Skeletal remains found in a wooded area of Prairieville back in January have been identified as 55-year-old William Winters, Chief Deputy Bobby Webre of the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office announced Friday.
Deputies were notified on January 30 after a human skull was found by a neighbor's dog in a wooded area off Germany Road.
Webre said foul play is not suspected in Winters' death. The LSU FACES lab helped to identify the remains.
